There are many ways that members of Good Shepherd come together for times of fellowship, fun, and growth in love for each other and for God.
Women of the ELCA (WELCA)
WELCA commits themselves to grow in faith, affirm their gifts, support each other in their callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world. The work of WELCA is accomplished at Good Shepherd through committees for growth, action, community, and food.
The Good Shepherd Congregational Unit is broken down into three Circles, which have their own projects in addition to supporting the Unit projects. The Circles are DORCAS which meets on the 3rd Thursday at 5:30PM, MARY which meets on the 1st Thursday at 10AM, and TAMAR which meets the 3rd Thursday at 6:30PM. The Circles meet to fellowship, enjoy meals together, give of their gifts and support each other.
Pathfinders of Good Shepherd (POGS)
POGS is a ministry for adults of all ages (retirees, stay at home parents, taking a lunch break or day off folks) who are continuing their journey through life on different paths, seeking to grow in their spiritual lives as they meet, eat, serve and travel together. It meets on the second Wednesday of each month (excluding the June and July vacation break) in the Fellowship Activities Building. Lunch is served at 12 noon (alternating potluck and catered meals) with an interesting and informative program following. This active group also sponsors various outings throughout the year to concerts, plays and other intellectual and cultural events.
Supper Club
Small-Group “Supper Clubs” are open to all members and provides a comfortable and relaxed way to meet other members of the congregation while enjoying a wonderful meal.
