About GSLC

“We are a community of all ages gathered by God’s grace for worship, learning, loving, and service to all.” -GSLC Mission Statement

Who We Are

Our mission statement begins by acknowledging that we are a community. We are a community that gathers around God’s table each week, and through that meal we are empowered to live out our calling in baptism to be the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-31).

We are also a community of all ages. When we gather in Christian Community we are blessed to have every age from newborn to ninety-nine in our midst. The relationships formed between the generations is a powerful part of God’s witness among us. There is certainly a place for everyone at Good Shepherd to know that they are loved and valued.

All of us are gathered by God’s grace. Ephesians 2:8-10 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God – not the result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.” All that we are as a community is a result of God’s gift of grace through faith. All that we do as a congregation is a response to the prevalent and abundant gift of God’s grace.

  • God’s grace compels us to first and foremost worship.
  • God’s grace compels us to seek life-long learning in the faith that God has given us.
  • God’s grace compels us to love one another.
  • God’s grace compels us to serve all others.
